Cloud Providers & Zones

Servala supports multiple cloud providers, giving you the flexibility to choose where your services run based on your requirements for data residency, compliance, and proximity.

Cloud providers

A cloud provider is an infrastructure provider that hosts the underlying compute, storage, and network resources for your services. Servala integrates with multiple providers, each offering different strengths:

  • Geographic coverage and data residency options
  • Compliance certifications (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR)
  • Specific infrastructure capabilities

See the Cloud Providers section for details on each available provider.

Service provider zones

A service provider zone represents a specific deployment location within a cloud provider. Zones typically correspond to a datacenter or region. When provisioning a service, you select a zone that determines:

  • Geographic location -- where your data is physically stored
  • Data residency -- relevant for compliance requirements
  • Network proximity -- closer zones generally mean lower latency

Choosing a provider and zone

When you select a service in the catalog, you'll see which providers and zones offer that service. Consider:

  1. Data residency requirements -- do you need data to stay in a specific country?
  2. Compliance needs -- does your organization require specific certifications?
  3. Proximity -- where are your applications and users located?
  4. Available services -- not all services are available on all providers and zones
