Cloud Providers & Zones¶
Servala supports multiple cloud providers, giving you the flexibility to choose where your services run based on your requirements for data residency, compliance, and proximity.
Cloud providers¶
A cloud provider is an infrastructure provider that hosts the underlying compute, storage, and network resources for your services. Servala integrates with multiple providers, each offering different strengths:
- Geographic coverage and data residency options
- Compliance certifications (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR)
- Specific infrastructure capabilities
See the Cloud Providers section for details on each available provider.
Service provider zones¶
A service provider zone represents a specific deployment location within a cloud provider. Zones typically correspond to a datacenter or region. When provisioning a service, you select a zone that determines:
- Geographic location -- where your data is physically stored
- Data residency -- relevant for compliance requirements
- Network proximity -- closer zones generally mean lower latency
Choosing a provider and zone¶
When you select a service in the catalog, you'll see which providers and zones offer that service. Consider:
- Data residency requirements -- do you need data to stay in a specific country?
- Compliance needs -- does your organization require specific certifications?
- Proximity -- where are your applications and users located?
- Available services -- not all services are available on all providers and zones
